Brice JacksonEducation:
Brice Jackson (they/them) is a composer, pianist, teacher, and producer/engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. They started playing piano at age 5 and have been pursuing a life of music since. They graduated from Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music in 2019 with a BA in Music Theory, focusing on the esoteric compositional methods of cellist and composer Arthur Russell. While at BW, they studied piano with Professor Mary Dobrea-Grindahl, Dr. Robert Mayerovitch, and Dr. Sungeun Kim. They are also self taught in both guitar and music production. Growing up outside of Cleveland Ohio, Brice developed a deep appreciation for nature at an early age (something that plays an active role in their compositional process and ethos of music making). They have been composing and producing their own music since 2017, and are an active member of several musical groups in both NYC and Cleveland. |
