At Music Beans, we create a fun, energetic, and creative learning environment for our students. We provide a learning environment that is aimed to maximize our students’ musical potential. We believe that creative interactions and engaging learning environment are critical to children’s success in music learning. Incorporating Dalcroze approach, the Gordon Music Learning Theory and multicultural music enrichment, Music Beans’ curricula value and embed the principles of creative movement, developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) & sequential learning, critical thinking, world sounds, and an engaging environment. Music lessons are so much more than just learning techniques or beat counting. We believe that by providing individualized curricula and present creative learning methods, our students will grow to establish a comprehensive understanding of music and able to play with absolute joy and musicality. Music learning is a life long experience - fun, creative and artistic!

Creative MovementOur classes value the influences of rhythmic movement in children’s musical development. Both of our applied and group classes consist of kinesthetic activities to accommodate children’s inclination towards dancing. Through moving to the motion of speed, weight, space, and flow in activities, children experience music creatively and express themselves artistically Critical ThinkingDeveloping the ability of critical thinking is important in our philosophy of music learning. At Music Beans, we not only ask our students to master the technique required for music making, but most importantly, we foster their way of artistic expression by nurturing them to compare sound qualities, styles, various ways of music playing and creative notation systems. Often, students carry this way of critical thinking developed at Music Beans to different areas of life. Engaging & FunOur program is set to promote children's confidence and creativity through musical play and activities. We designed our classes not only to be instructional but most importantly, FUN!!! Everyone at Music Beans walks out of their classes with a huge smile on their faces!! |
DAP & Sequential LearningWe believe children will learn more efficiently and voluntarily when they are in a musical program based on Developmentally Appropriate Practice. The concept of developmentally appropriate practices refers to providing an environment, methodologies, and content (e.g. materials & activities) that match a child’s level of development. At Music Beans, we value DAP and design our classes with sequential steps based on our students’ musical development in order to facilitate their success in music learning. world soundAt Music Beans, students experience a diverse selection of musical repertoire from around the world whether it’s classical, modern, popular, or jazz music. We believe that by immersing our students in diverse styles of music, they will develop an open mind towards new sounds and expand their sound spectrum in the music world. This expanded sound spectrum will serve as a foundation in musical improvisation and composition. |
