MASAKO YOKOUCHIEducation:
* B.M. in Piano Performance from Brooklyn College * B.A. in Music Theory and Technology from New York University * Graduated in Childhood Education from Aoyoma Gakuin W.J. College Certificate: * Japan Teacher License A native of Japan, Masako Yokouchi began her musical studies at the age of three in her hometown of Matsumoto, Nagano. After graduating Aoyama Gakuin W. J. College in Education, she continued her study in NYU in music theory and technology, then CUNY-Brooklyn in piano performance with Ursula Oppens. She is an active performer throughout the city for 16 years, and her performance experiences expand from classical to improvisation. She gave many solo and ensemble recordings and performances in venues including MoMA, La Mama Theater and CBGB. Currently she focuses on her classical contemporary repertoire. She hopes to help her students to develop and expand their musical spectrum and technical ability and to build strong foundations in their social interacting skills though playing music throughout their lives. |
