Montana Heater * Education:
B.M. in Jazz Studies, concentration on Guitar, California State University Northridge Mike Curb College of Music Montana Heater is a Los Angeles born jazz guitarist, vocalist, multi instrumentalist, and long time music teacher. Her love of music began at a very young age; inspired by a musical family, she began teaching herself guitar at age 12. Later she fell in love with jazz and at age 17 moved to Barcelona to study jazz at Conservatori del Licieu through Berklee School of Music’s International Network. She has studied with many prominent players and educators in her field including the world-renowned John Pisano, Tim Pierce, Larry Koonse, and Yotam Silberstien, eventually graduating with her BA in Jazz Studies on guitar. In addition to this she has done countless recording projects as a session guitarist, played with some extremely prominent jazz musicians, played at several festivals including the WWJF, and worked with several bands in the Los Angeles scene including Andre Miguel and the Moment as well as her own projects. After 7 years of working and teaching in L.A., she now resides in New York where she takes joy in playing and teaching to pass on her great passion for music. |
