Jonah Barnett* Education:
B.M. Music in Jazz Studies & Music Composition, James Madison University Jonah Barnett is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, and experienced recording artist. Jonah has a Double Bachelors of Music in jazz studies and music composition from James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Music in jazz composition from the Manhattan School of Music, studying with Mike Holober. Some of Jonah’s specialties include performing in musical pit orchestras, event bands, and jazz groups, composing or arranging modern works for contemporary settings, copyist skills, and bookkeeping. Jonah will be teaching beginning guitar courses, wherein students will be guided through a structured additive curriculum of basic chords, techniques and exercises. The goal of the course is for students to be able to discover new music, and to provide them the skills to pursue the songs they'd like to learn on their own. |
